Fundraising - a family affair

Robbie's Run
Did you know that Horizon Christian School works very hard to keep tuition affordable and still offer an education that surpasses expectations? Horizon strives, not only, to excel in the academics, but also to understand who Christ is in the everyday workings of life, school, and the world around us. However, tuition only meets the basics of the budget. It doesn't account for the extra needs, like Chromebooks, new computers, or security system updates.

In the past, the school has held a silent auction, but this year we wanted to start a new tradition. A tradition that can involve the entire family and extended family. HCS has decided to join with the Geist 5K & Half Marathon. Don't feel like you can run a 5K (don't worry I can't either) you are welcome to walk it. Just
in case you don't know a 5K is about 3.1 miles. We'd love to have you join us.

As you can see, we have named our part of the fundraiser, Robbie's Run. This is named for a young man, a sophomore, here at Horizon that lost his battle with Leukemia, and went to be with the Lord,  this past school year. Robbie loved his time here at Horizon. So in memory of this young man our participation with the Geist Marathon has been dedicated to this young man. This year Robbie's run is based upon 1 Corinthians 9:24-27.

Ok, ok. You are probably thinking, "Let's get to the point."

There are two major ways to participate:
1st
-->  Participate in the fundraising and volunteer (race or work the food tent) during the event on May 16, 2015.

2nd
--> I don't want to participate, but I would like to make a donation to the school.

For more information see the parent letter from Principal Slack.
