School Starts in 7 1/2 hours...

Here it goes. A New school year. 180 days, 1,080 hours, or 64,800 minutes. Each minute is valuable learning time. Due to this, I want to reward students that come prepared for class, follow directions, and work hard. I do this in two ways.

1. Daily Tickets:
Students have the opportunity to earn a ticket during each class. This
ticket is earned by arriving on time, coming prepared, participating appropriately, doing in classwork and homework in a timely manner. Overall, just doing what is expected.

Tickets can also be earned by doing something over and above what is expected. Helping out or doing something extra kind for another student or myself.

These tickets can be used to purchase a wide array of fun (albeit) small prizes.

2. Group rewards:
Each day the class will start out with 3 stars. If a majority of the class isn't behaving they will lose a star. If all 3 are lost the entire class will lose their tickets as well. However, students will be given the opportunity to earn lost stars back, if they really turn it around. If the class is doing an amazing job, really involved, working hard, truly blow me out of the water with their amazing
work and behavior the class can even earn over and above the 3 stars (max of 5). Stars earned will then be added to the previous class total in an attempt to earn enough stars (predetermined goal) for a reward.

Ultimately, it is our job to train students to do their best, with or without a reward, in an effort to glorify God (Col. 3:17). However, while we're in school earning rewards makes it more fun.
